Aluminum is a versatile material, with a specific gravity of about a third that of steel or copper. It is malleable, ductile, and easily worked. It has excellent corrosion resistance and durability. Furthermore, it is non-magnetic, non-sparking, and is the second most malleable metal and the sixth most ductile.
The cold chamber die casting process takes place with less control over the temperature of the liquid jet and lower productivity given the longer times required for the insertion of the molten metal and, above all, the operating temperature, which is significantly higher than in the hot chamber.
Cold chamber die casting allows for the use of a wider range of materials (aluminum alloys) and the achievement of higher pressures (1500 bar).
